My name is Lucas Schultz. I'm 20 years old, and have lived in southern Vermont my whole life. While I definitely live in the middle of no where, I enjoy the outdoors, and the beautiful scenery. I went to Brattleboro Union High School where I played soccer, ran track, and I ski raced at Mount Snow. I still coach at Mt. Snow, and this year I'm very excited to be coaching racing. I found my way to Saint Michaels because I didn't get into some of the ivy leagues I thought I wanted to go to, but I have loved it here! I'm a Biology major in my junior year. My plan is to take a year off after St. Mikes, and apply to medical school. I'm not sure for what yet, but getting in is definitely the first hurdle to think about.
As I prepare to study abroad in Sydney, Australia next semester, it makes me reminisce about what a great time I've had at this school so far. I was vice president of my class freshman year, and am currently a senator. I served on Saint Michael's rescue for some time, and have been a resident assistant since the beginning of last year. I've taken some extremely interesting classes, some easier than others. Also, most importantly (in my mind at least), I've met some of the greatest friends of my life. This school just seems to attract a group of people that is more welcoming, open, and fun than I could have ever imagined.
As I mentioned above I enjoy skiing but also spending time outside doing things like hiking. I live for a good afternoon nap, watching Law and Order, or reading a good book (I'm currently just catching up with the fad and finishing Angels and Demons). I spend time working out, studying, or just hanging around with my friends. On the overall, I think my life is similar to the average St. Mikes student, and I love it!
